Again, a long period we are back online.
An apology is in order to Mike Greene for losing his letter last October. |

Mike Greene
Dear Bob, Susan, and all,
What a website you've created. You do us all proud. Just a quick update on
me. New address, same neighborhood, same phone. 18524 Balmore Pines Ln.,
Cornelius, NC, 28031. I've been more fortunate than most to be happily
married for the past 20 years (yes, I waited until I was 33)to my 1st (and
only) wife.. and business partner, Tana. I guess being married for 20 years
and in business together for 18 says something about the bond. I'm also
blessed with a beautiful 10 year old spitfire of a daughter named Kelly, for
whom I also waited. Obviously, no Grandkids, but I couldn't ask for more out
of life (except maybe to play guitar like Eddie Van Halen). By the way, even
though we haven't seen each other in many years, I do love and miss you all,
and will never forget WHS. I can't end without mentioning the special place
I hold in my heart for my memories of Nick Jewett and Wayne Kitteredge. My
sincerest of best wishes go to Greg Dunn, Kevin Rice, Bob Craigue, George
Pettinari, Gene Fergione and George Blahun. God bless all. |

Contacted Waterford High They won't allow us to serve wine, beer or
liquor at the school, doesn't bother me but I imagine most people would like
a drink or 2.. I'll look into another place for March. Are people interested
in another reunion? Who would go? Send you comments to me @ glow528@hotmail.com
or on this site. Gail Wanat O'Hara |

Hello fellow classmates...I was one of the "quiet" members of our
class...just came to school and stayed to myself mostly, tho I had a few
good friends I remember..I have been married 30 years, have 4 grown
children..NO grandkids yet..LOL..but working on that! I have been in the
newspaper/magazine business for 28 years locally..never moved away as I
always loved living in this area. My wife and I make our home in Groton..my
daughters are still home. My oldest son is a firefighter, my youngest son a
musician, my oldest daughter attends UCONN and my youngest daughter will
graduate this June from Fitch High School..and I will be finished with kids
in school..hahaha! I do have some fond memories of WHS..and was saddened
when I read the class list and saw so many that have departed our world..all
far too young! If anyone cares to e-mail me..please do..it would be nice to
hear from some of the "old" classmates :-) |

Hello class of "69". I am one of those who
didn't have a class picture and blended in the background. Stayed in
Waterford area till 1986 then moved to upstate NY. I am in a small village
in the Catskills, own a small construction company, have a cat, dog, 3 grown
children, 1 grandchild and a wonderful wife. The oldest son lives in Conn.
so I pass thru Waterford once or twice a year.
Thanks for the info on the website, this is great. Good luck to all and to
those who have passed, God Bless.

website is back on the air!
People are starting to discuss the possibilities of having
a reunion this year, our 35th anniversary. We will be contacting as
many classmates as possible, both by email and postal mail to try and get a
sense on the number of interested parties. Please feel free to contact us
here at
reunion@waterfordhigh1969.com and let us know if you are interested in a
reunion, and if so, when would you prefer to have it - summer, autumn? |

News: It is difficult not to reflect on your own life when such a a
spirited soul like Kevin Pope is extinguished. I remember Kevin as outgoing,
fun loving and always ready to joke and smile. My life has been
dedicated to helping the mentally ill and ferral cats. It's a nobel cause
but it has been a hard road both academically and professionally. I hope
Kevin died with a love of life that will see him through what lies beyond.
God Bless and you say... |

Sadly, another rose was added to the class
roster. Goodbye Kevin. Just got word that
Kevin Pope died very unexpectedly. Our class sure has its losses. Gail Wanat

Hi Bob, just a quick note for now. I'm living in sunny Largo, Fl. with my
wife of 30 years Wendy and my 3 teen kids. Been here since '87 along w. my
folks, sister and the whole Nelson clan. |

Gee Suzan the website is fascinating. And evocative. I thought I got ""Most
Angelic"". Must have come in second.
Typical stuff since, married, kids. Although this husband and these sons are
as fine a group of men as you could imagine.
I'm sobered by the deaths listed, and the illnesses endured. I remember Jay
French kicking me in Mr. Buckley's 5th grade class and when I turned around
to whack him, I got caught. Duh. Jay loved that, he knew I'd retaliate.
Take good care Suzan. Thanks for the efforts on behalf of the class of 69. |

DEAR ROBERT AND SUZAN,
WOW! THE SIGHT LOOKS GREAT! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR EFFORTS.
I AM FINALLY FINISHED WITH MY MASTERS IN EDUCATION. GOING TO SCHOOL AS AN
ADULT IS NOT NEARLY AS MUCH FUN AS IT SHOULD BE! NOW I HAVE TO DEAL WITH ALL
THE THINGS I PUT OFF AS I WROTE MY PAPER.
I TEACH SECOND GRADE IN A LOW INCOME CITY SCHOOL SYSTEM. MORE THAN HALF MY
STUDENTS ARE FROM MEXICO AND VERY PROUD TO LIVE IN AMERICA.
I HAVE THREE YOUNG GRANDSONS WITH ANOTHER BOY (SAMUEL) DUE IN JUNE. SOME OF
MY CHILDREN LIVE IN CONNECTICUT NOW. I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO MOVE BACK BUT
THE COST OF LIVING IS MUCH GENTLER OUT HERE!
KEEP IN TOUCH. |

Sorry for the recent web outages - we have
moved the web to a new hosting service and should see better performance and

Just discovered this website and think it's a great idea...so many familiar
names (mine included) that have gotten lost over all these years. My story:
married once and it's lasted 27 (occasionally very long) years...we have a
daughter, Jessie, who is in advertising in Baltimore; a son, Chase, who is a
junior at Georgetown Univ and a daughter, Hayley, who is a sophomore at a
Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA...I worked on Capitol Hill for
Senator Walter Mondale then for a related project at GW University...I lived
in suburbs of Atlanta for 7 years where I did the suburban mother
routine...when I left Atlanta, I was (quite surprisingly) playing A-Level
Tennis...moved to NJ and was diagnosed in 1989 with multiple sclerosis which
has been interesting at best...I wrote the musical score for and was 1/2 of
an original two woman dinner theatre/cabaret in NJ...now I live in the
country in MD where I have a small business painting murals and
furniture...imagine there aren't many memories of me at WHS...but |

Hi this is Kathleen Brown (Smith). I actually graduated in 1970, but
most of my friends were seniors. Matter of fact, I really missed you guys
when you graduated and I still had a year to go. I've been busy, married
twice, both disasters until I went and got counseling and discovered why I
made bad choices. Raised three lovely children, lost a set of twins when
they were real little. And now have 4 grandchildren. I also share my life
with my soulmate, a wonderful man that I adore. Better yet, he adores me! I
went back to school, got my BA in Psychology, and I'm about to return to get
my Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling. I work full time with people
who have schizophrenia. Would be nice if someone with more computer
knowledge than I have started a site like this for other graduate years. But
it's nice to see this one and read up on everyone I remember. My best friend
Cora and I still keep in touch. I've moved all over, lived in Maryland,
Ohio, and now have settled in the Naugatuck Valley.
Thanks Robert for sending me that email to tell me about this site. Love it,
keep it going. Best to all of you.

Great to see the updated site. Mike and I will be in CT the first part of
August at my mom's place (call 443-2530) if anyone wants to connect. We'll
have the grandkids, Jackson (almost 8) and Logan (16 months.) Yes we're
grandparents parenting...I'm also still teaching English at Napa High. We're
looking at retiring in five years and building a home near the coast in
Oregon. Meanwhile, we'll just have to endure wine country life. Take care.

Sorry I missed the 50 birthday reunion. I was
in the Far East on a business trip. Don't want to pass up those adventures!
My wife Maria and I will be married 27 years October 26. Oldest son Chuck is
an investment banker in Manhattan. Was on elevator going down to first floor
when plane hit World Trade Center. Just made it out before it collapsed.
Unfortunately his roommate who worked in the second tower didn't make it.
Youngest son Michael is in the third year of Quinnipiac University. Doing
well. Plans to get into the music business over in London.
Looking forward to the next reunion. Has anyone heard from Laurie Palmer?
I remember her from Cohanzie Elementary school. Say her picture in my old
Cohanzie yearbook. Anyone know her email?

I'd like to thank those that organized and
worked so hard on the party and especially those who arrange that I would
win balloons ;-} My wife and I had a great time and hopefully we can
"invent" some other excuse to get together again before I loose more white
hair.
I was reminded of what Mrs. Brogan taught me
in Algebra "There are three kinds of people; Those that can count and
those that can't". OK so my memory is fading too.
It was great seeing you all and Thanks again.

Couple of things. First, there has been some interest
in having a class reunion next year - we can use our AARP cards!
Just think how ancient 50 year olds seemed when we were young.
The other is we would like to start putting up your mail and stories on
the web. We have led interesting lives, we all have stories.
Let us know what you think! |
